Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Scaffolding Estimator / New Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in driving new business opportunities and managing estimating functions within our established company. The successful candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the scaffolding industry and demonstrate exceptional communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
Duties:
- Identify and target prospective opportunities/customers.
- Price and prepare new tenders, ensuring thorough follow-up to maximize secured opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with both new and existing clients.
- Interpret specifications, schedules, and scopes of work to produce competitive solutions in line with customer requirements.
- Read and scale building drawings to ensure customer needs are met and, where possible, exceeded.
- Secure works for the operations team.
- Attend negotiations and pre-start handover meetings.
- Prepare handover packs for secured tenders, including labour spends for the operations team.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as a scaffolding estimator with in-depth knowledge of the scaffolding industry.
- Ability to interpret specifications, schedules, and scopes of work effectively.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to interpret terms and conditions of customer enquiries.
- Proficiency in reading and scaling building drawings.
- Experience in pricing and preparing tender inquiries.
- Familiarity with Smart Scaffolder is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and influencing abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint).
- Self-organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Client-friendly demeaner.
- Full clean UK driving license.
