Position: Finance Manager – JDW Building and Conservation Ltd

JDW Building and Conservation LTD are a family run Construction Company based in Eardisley near Hereford, that have been in established since 2010. We construct our own homes but also work with individual clients.

We pride ourselves on working in collaboration with our clients and supply chain and developing long term relationships.

The successful applicant will become part of a dynamic and ambitious team.

Role description:

To work in conjunction with the senior management team toward agreed growth and financial targets. Management of the busy finance section of a successful and expanding company.

Role to include:

·       Management of the companies Finances and working closely with the admin and contract team.

·       Management of the groups’ finances.

·       Manage cashflow and report back to Directors.

·       Monthly/Quarterly management accounts for 3 group companies including on-going commentary for these companies and other companies within the group.

·       Close liaison with accountants including end of year accounts.

·       Liaison with Bank and banking relationship.

·       Maintain good relationship with supply chain and clients.

·       Credit control, ensuring all customers pay within terms.

·       Make bank payments for all accounts.

·       Monthly bank reconciliations.

·       Monthly debit and credit card reconciliations.

·       Verify staff expense claims.

·       Maintain petty cash records.

·       Completion of fortnightly payroll (SAGE)

·       Deliver all HMRC returns on time; VAT, PAYE, CIS, Corporation Tax

·       Completion of CITB Levy and associated training grant reclaims.

·       Manage any significant HR issues with Directors.

·       Negotiation of insurance renewal

·       Negotiation of any change to hire vehicles/equipment


The successful candidate:

·       We are seeking to appoint a pro-active Finance Manager overseeing our day-to-day finance operations, working closely with the Directors and liaising with our external independent accountant.

·       The individual should be dynamic, self-motivated, innovative, and able to confidently lead an effective and efficient accounts department.

·       You will need to be able to lead by example, cope under pressure and challenge and have the drive and commitment to manage a team in an organisation with high standards.

·       Whilst a formal qualification is not necessary, experience in the construction industry, together with experience and competence in producing monthly management accounts, monthly reports and processes using Xero and Sage Payroll is desired.
