Our client is a leading infrastructure contractor with an exciting opportunity for a Finance & Accounting Assistant to join their business in London on a permanent basis. This role will suit someone with prior construction industry experience.
Assist the finance team in the operational financial management systems and management of all aspects of the project finances.
Manage the subcontractor payment and liability process.
Key Responsibilities :
Assist in establishing the new Accounting System (Coins).
Manage payments and liabilities for subcontractors.
Assist finance team and liaise with Procurement and Commercial Functions to establish robust accounting processes for expenditure on a ‘cost recoverable’ project to ensure application costs are auditable by the client Project Manager to ensure there are no disallowable costs which cannot be recovered by the CP.
Assist finance team to close out month-end reporting and produce financial reports.
Assist with the month end reporting.
Assist with the year-end audit packs and liaising with our auditors on area of responsibility.
Performing ad hoc queries and duties where required.
Holiday cover for supplier accounts payable function.
Essential Experience Required:
*CIS / Subcontractor payment mechanism – Essential
*Knowledge of Accounting and Finance practice within the Construction industry
*Strong Excel skills & Extensive Pivot Table experience
*Worked under an NEC contract
*Coins accounting software
*Confident with vlook ups
